“I’ll preface to say, this might be the hardest review I’ve ever had to write! I wanted to write a review that offers an accurate reflection of the incredible attention to detail, and impeccable quality that Jan expressed throughout his time managing our renovation. It turns out, it’s really f*cking hard just to write a review that I feel matches the quality of his work, I have no idea how Jan managed to do the same thing, at a consistently high level on our pride and joy for weeks on end!
So, what made us feel this way and be so incredibly satisfied with the work Jan delivered? First, some background: We started out just planning a kitchen and bathroom reno, and although we wanted more, had the time pressure of a baby on the way and didn’t want to have a blown out timeline wind up with us moving back home after the birth.

Jan has all three in spades! He always made himself available to discuss ideas with us, and share his insight about how things would fit together, and his experience from previous projects. Even with deadlines looming and him really needing an answer, Jan made sure we had all the facts to make a balanced decision that we’d be happy with. I found this trait of Jan’s, bringing us deeply into the discussion and informing our decisions, to be really valuable.
Combine these traits with an incredible team, and you are set for success!
Another thing I have to comment on is how tidy the workspace was, throughout the project. We often came back to the apartment to check on progress, and everything was packed away and organised, ready for the next day. All around the job site, Jan had pasted pictures of the design drawings so the team knew exactly what the end goal would look like, and made us excited looking at the progress of the work!
During the course of the project we added significant scope, without flexibility in our move-in date. Even under incredible pressure Jan maintained his positive outlook, and didn’t compromise quality to get things done in time. And, we made our target date! I thoroughly recommend Jan for any renovation or building work.
